OLIX is building the next generation of AI infrastructure to address the massive compute and power demands created by the explosion in AI adoption. The company is architecting specialized hardware accelerators (the DX-1 Decode Accelerator) designed specifically for AI inference workloads, combining innovations in logic, data movement, packaging, optics, and interconnect to deliver step-change improvements in system-level performance. As Mechanical Engineering Manager, you will lead and grow the mechanical engineering organization, owning technical leadership, team development, and hands-on engineering oversight across the full product lifecycle. You will drive the delivery of complex mechanical systems, enclosures, and thermal solutions from concept through production and field support. Key responsibilities include: • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and grow a team of mechanical engineers and designers. Set objectives, conduct performance reviews, recruit talent, and foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and technical excellence. • Engineering Delivery: Oversee design, verification, and validation of mechanical systems, assemblies, and enclosures. Ensure products meet performance, reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, and cost targets from concept through qualification and production release. • Technical Leadership: Provide direction across mechanical design, structural analysis, thermal management, and materials selection. Review CAD, drawings, and tolerance analyses. Drive DFM/DFA/DFR initiatives and lead resolution of complex mechanical and integration issues. • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Electronics, Software, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Product Management to integrate mechanical, electrical, and thermal subsystems. Support NPI through volume production. • Quality & Governance: Own engineering documentation, configuration control, and change management. Ensure designs meet safety, reliability, environmental, and regulatory requirements. • Planning & Strategy: Manage budgets, resources, and engineering KPIs. Define the mechanical engineering roadmap and align execution with company strategy and product goals. Required experience includes proven track record leading and scaling high-performing mechanical engineering teams; strong background designing complex mechanical systems and product platforms for high-performance electronic equipment; experience delivering complex products from concept through production; solid understanding of thermal solutions and system-level integration; strong cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management skills; experience managing design partners, contract manufacturers, and suppliers; and commercial acumen for managing budgets, cost targets, and KPIs in a fast-scaling environment.
