Anduril Industries is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Warfighter Systems team in developing a next-generation soldier-borne Army vision system. This role combines cutting-edge multispectral sensors, advanced compute, thermal management, and ballistic protection into a wearable platform.
You will own mechanical design and prototyping efforts with significant autonomy, balancing stringent SWAP-C (Size, Weight, Power, Cost) requirements with human factors and comfort considerations. The system integrates advanced optics, thermal imaging, and ruggedized electronics into a form factor suitable for extended tactical wear.
Key responsibilities include:
- Detailed mechanical design for prototype through production phases
- CAD modeling and engineering drawing generation for complex assemblies
- Ergonomic and human factors analysis for wearable systems
- Structural and thermal analysis to inform design trade studies
- Manufacturing process selection and optimization (traditional and additive)
- Environmental and thermal performance validation
- Rapid prototyping and iteration cycles
Required qualifications: BS/MS/PhD in engineering with 1–6 years post-graduate mechanical engineering experience. Strong CAD proficiency (any platform), expertise in mechanical design for both traditional and additive manufacturing, ergonomics/human factors, structural/thermal analysis, and manufacturing processes. Must be eligible for U.S. Security Clearance.
Preferred: Consumer electronics packaging experience, military qualification program background with MIL-STD knowledge, NX/Teamcenter with FEA, and rapid 3D prototyping experience.
This is a full-time role offering competitive salary, equity, and comprehensive benefits.
