Salary: USD 90,000 - 170,000 / annual

Anduril Industries is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the team developing a next-generation soldier-borne Army vision system. This role combines cutting-edge multispectral sensors, compute, thermal management, and ballistic intercept capabilities into a wearable platform designed to enhance soldier safety and situational awareness in combat. You will own mechanical design and prototyping efforts with significant autonomy, balancing stringent SWAP-C (Size, Weight, Power, Cost) requirements with human factors and comfort. The system integrates advanced sensors, thermal management solutions, and ruggedized packaging for extended tactical use. Key responsibilities include: - Detailed mechanical design for prototype through production phases, working with metallics and composites - CAD modeling and engineering drawing generation for complex assemblies - Ergonomic and human factors analysis to ensure comfort and usability in prolonged tactical environments - Structural and thermal analysis to inform design trade studies - Manufacturing process knowledge including molding, laminating, machining, and additive manufacturing - Environmental considerations for temperature, humidity, and field durability - Rapid prototyping and iteration cycles Required qualifications: BS/MS/PhD in engineering, 1–6 years mechanical engineering experience, proficiency in CAD (any platform), and eligibility for U.S. Security Clearance. Strong competencies needed in mechanical design, ergonomics, structural/thermal analysis, manufacturing processes, and environmental engineering. Preferred experience includes consumer electronics packaging, military qualification programs and MIL-STD requirements, NX/Teamcenter with FEA, and rapid 3D prototyping.
