Anduril Industries is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Warfighter Systems division, which develops mixed reality technologies for military applications. You will design and develop a new Army vision system that integrates multispectral sensors, compute, thermal management, and ballistic protection into a wearable platform.
In this role, you will own mechanical design and prototyping efforts with significant autonomy, balancing stringent SWAP-C (Size, Weight, Power, Cost) requirements with human factors and comfort for tactical environments. You'll work across the full product lifecycle from concept through production, managing complex assemblies and producing high-quality engineering documentation.
Key responsibilities include detailed mechanical design for both traditional and additive manufacturing using metallics and composites; ergonomic design for prolonged wear in demanding conditions; structural and thermal analysis to inform trade studies; manufacturing process knowledge including molding, laminating, and machining; and consideration of thermal and environmental factors affecting material performance.
Required qualifications: BS/MS/PhD in engineering with 1–6 years of mechanical engineering experience; proficiency in CAD (any platform) with ability to manage complex assemblies and produce detailed drawings; strong competencies in mechanical design, ergonomics/human factors, structural/thermal analysis, manufacturing processes, and environmental considerations; eligibility for U.S. Security Clearance.
Preferred experience includes consumer electronics packaging and design (cameras, displays, SoC integration, ruggedization), military qualification programs and MIL-STD requirements, NX/Teamcenter with FEA, and rapid prototyping with 3D printing. This is a full-time position offering competitive salary, equity, and comprehensive benefits.
