Voyager Technologies is a defense, national security, and space technology company developing mission-critical solutions for advanced aerospace and defense applications. This role is a senior individual contributor position focused on test engineering for complex mechanical and propulsion systems. As a Mechanical Engineer VI - Test, you will serve as a recognized authority in testing environments and methodologies. Your responsibilities span multiple technical domains: **Testing & Verification**: Design and oversee complex, large-scale, high-risk test programs. Demonstrate advanced expertise in test assembly techniques, data acquisition, statistical analysis, measurement techniques, and signal processing. Provide guidance on test planning best practices and contribute to development of test planning frameworks and methodologies. **Technical Leadership**: Lead cross-functional activities in systems engineering, including requirements analysis, risk management, and verification/validation coordination. Understand acquisition life cycles and program planning. Contribute to reliability and safety principles implementation. **Design & Analysis**: Possess foundational understanding of electromechanical actuators, igniters, pressure vessels, solid rocket motor systems, hot gas valves, and thrusters. Conduct CFD simulations, structural and thermal analysis, and dynamic analysis. Interpret results and apply engineering judgment. **Documentation & Communication**: Excel in technical writing, presentation design, and specialized technical documentation. Provide expert guidance on complex communication challenges and tailor content for diverse audiences. **CAD & Modeling**: Create intricate 2D/3D designs using advanced CAD tools. Produce precise technical drawings, interpret complex GD&T symbols, and generate complex assemblies. **Project Coordination**: Manage vendor evaluations, supplier performance analysis, and contract management practices. Understand operations research principles and basic financial knowledge. **Domain Expertise**: Understand propellant chemistry, combustion principles, grain geometry, internal ballistics, solid rocket motor performance (thrust, specific impulse), and avionics fundamentals including battery design, cable/wire harness design, and ignition systems. This is a highly technical role requiring deep expertise across mechanical engineering, test methodology, systems engineering, and aerospace/defense propulsion systems. You will work on mission-critical projects where technical excellence directly impacts national security and space exploration objectives. **Requirements:** - 15+ years of mechanical engineering experience - Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or other relevant engineering discipline from an accredited university (equivalent experience may be considered) - Positive, cooperative, self-motivated, and professional demeanor - Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance - U.S. Person status required (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual per 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3)) due to ITAR/EAR export control regulations **Preferred Qualifications:** - Rocket motor design and testing experience - Master of Science in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or related discipline - Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time
