Voyager Space is seeking a Mechanical Engineer V - Test, a senior technical expert to lead complex test programs and drive innovation in defense and space technology. This is a staff-level individual contributor role focused on test assembly, integration, and analysis for mission-critical systems. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and design complex test setups, data acquisition systems, and custom fixtures for large-scale, high-risk test programs - Develop and optimize testing processes, troubleshoot instrumentation, and analyze measurement uncertainties - Apply expertise in statistical modeling, multivariate analysis, time series analysis, and measurement techniques - Provide technical guidance on test strategies and serve as a recognized authority in test engineering - Create precise technical drawings and 3D CAD models with advanced GD&T interpretation - Develop program plans, coordinate activities, and understand acquisition life cycles - Conduct requirements analysis, risk management, and reliability/safety assessments - Lead small teams on project activities and manage vendor evaluations - Communicate complex technical concepts through specialized documentation and presentations - Apply foundational knowledge of electromechanical actuators, pressure vessels, solid rocket motors, hot gas valves, and thrusters - Understand propellant chemistry, combustion principles, internal ballistics, and solid propellant manufacturing The role requires extensive experience in test engineering, systems engineering, and project coordination. You will be responsible for handling mission-critical test programs where precision, reliability, and safety are paramount.
