Voyager Space is seeking a Mechanical Engineer V - Test, a senior technical expert to lead complex test programs and drive innovation in defense and space technology. This is a staff-level individual contributor role focused on test assembly, integration, and analysis for mission-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and design complex test setups, data acquisition systems, and custom fixtures for large-scale, high-risk test programs
- Develop and optimize testing processes, troubleshoot instrumentation, and analyze measurement uncertainties
- Apply expertise in statistical modeling, multivariate analysis, time series analysis, and measurement techniques
- Provide technical guidance on test strategies and serve as a recognized authority in test engineering
- Create precise technical drawings and 3D CAD models with advanced GD&T interpretation
- Develop program plans, coordinate activities, and understand acquisition life cycles
- Conduct requirements analysis, risk management, and reliability/safety assessments
- Lead small teams on project activities and manage vendor evaluations
- Communicate complex technical concepts through specialized documentation and presentations
- Apply foundational knowledge of electromechanical actuators, pressure vessels, solid rocket motors, hot gas valves, and thrusters
- Understand propellant chemistry, combustion principles, internal ballistics, and solid propellant manufacturing
