Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the development of integrated support systems for autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs). The Maritime Division is expanding its product portfolio across undersea reconnaissance and strike platforms, including vehicles like Dive-XL, Dive-LD, Copperhead, and Seabed Sentry. In this role, you will design, develop, and deliver robust support systems ensuring effective deployment, recovery, operation, and maintenance of AUVs in demanding operational environments. Key responsibilities include refining mechanical solutions for launch and recovery mechanisms, handling gear, transportation and storage solutions, and testing equipment. You will select, qualify, and manage vendors for commercial off-the-shelf components and outsourced manufacturing, while leading technical efforts to define requirements, propose solutions, and establish evaluation methodologies. You'll work collaboratively across vehicle design engineering, field operations, manufacturing, and customer teams. Your work spans design reviews, technical analysis, vendor visits, prototyping, and hardware testing. You will contribute to enhancing team tools, templates, processes, and standards while ensuring electrical, software, and mechanical systems integrate into reliable, flexible, cost-effective solutions. Required: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; 4+ years of mechanical design and testing experience in maritime, aerospace, or defense systems (maritime preferred). The role is based in Quincy, Massachusetts, supporting Anduril's mission to deliver cutting-edge autonomy, AI, and sensor fusion technology to military customers at unprecedented speed.
