Salary: USD 129,000 - 171,000 / annual

Anduril Industries is seeking a Mechanical Engineer specializing in Support System Testing to join the Omen team at their Costa Mesa headquarters. Omen is an autonomous hover-to-cruise air vehicle (AAV) designed for runway-independent operations from ship decks, beaches, and remote locations. The company has secured a mass-production contract for 50 systems. In this role, you will own the mechanical design of novel Ground Servicing Equipment (GSE), including launch and recovery systems, storage and transportation equipment, fueling and charging accessories, and mission system handling devices. You will work in a lean, high-ownership culture where you directly shape the product and operate at velocity to fly new designs within months. Key responsibilities include: - Design and prototype novel Support System Equipment from hardware evaluation through customer-facing demonstration - Develop, review, and execute test plans for Support System Equipment, capturing and reporting learnings efficiently - Design and use full-scale representative vehicle system elements and mock-ups to evaluate equipment - Draft Standard Operating Procedures for Support System operations across diverse environments (austere to established) - Provide feedback to Vehicle, Mission, and Support System Design Engineering teams on field usability - Conduct hazard assessment and risk mitigation using disciplined engineering design practices (MIL-STD-882E) - Identify and evaluate land and maritime test environments and facilities - Implement and maintain configuration control processes for development assets Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or related aviation discipline; 3+ years in aviation, aerospace, or product development/design with test and evaluation experience; background in land and maritime operational environments for logistics and maintenance; competence in hazard assessment and risk mitigation; and strong bias for action in fast-paced environments. Experience with high-voltage systems, batteries, hybrid powertrains, trade/mechanic qualifications, defense industry background, and military service are highly desirable. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance in the US, UK, or Australia.
