Salary: USD 99,000 - 131,000 / annual

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology, AI, autonomy, and computer vision. The Rocket Motor Systems (RMS) team is building next-generation solid rocket motors for tactical applications, aiming to become a large-volume provider known for quality and reliability. As a Mechanical Engineer on the RMS team, you will own the mechanical design and analysis of solid rocket motor components including motor cases, nozzles, propellant grains, igniters, and ignition safety components. This is a hardware-focused role requiring strong command of mechanical design, stress analysis, thermal analysis, and industry-standard tools. Key responsibilities include: performing CAD design of mechanical components; conducting finite element analysis (FEA) of structural and thermal systems; generating, reviewing, and releasing engineering drawings and product definitions; creating technical reports and presentations; presenting design reviews to peers and customers; supporting prototyping, manufacturing, and test operations at Anduril facilities and supplier sites; and owning the development of critical subsystems from conception through delivery. Required qualifications: 3+ years of mechanical design and analysis experience; bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field; proficiency with CAD and/or FEA software; solid understanding of hardware manufacturability and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T); strong communication skills; ability to travel 10-25% to other Anduril sites, customer sites, or supplier facilities; ability to obtain and hold a Secret Security Clearance. Preferred qualifications include: strong initiative and ownership; experience with NX CAD and/or Abaqus FEA; GD&T certification; expertise in engineering tool development using Microsoft Excel, MATLAB, or Python; propulsion systems experience.
