Salary: USD 129,000 - 171,000 / annual
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. The Maneuver Dominance team develops aerial robotic systems designed to operate in large coordinated teams alongside ground maneuver forces, leveraging perception, autonomy, and command-and-control systems.
As a Mechanical Engineer on this team, you will own core product development of portable C2 (command and control) systems, including integration with ground and air vehicles. This is a hands-on role requiring high ownership and frequent cross-disciplinary collaboration.
Key responsibilities include:
- Execute rapid evaluation of engineering concepts across multiple technical domains
- Perform trade studies and physics-based analysis of complex engineering problems
- Design, implement, and test electro-mechanical systems with high autonomy
- Lead design reviews, conduct analysis, manage vendor relationships, and define hardware test plans
- Build prototypes, analyze failures, and transition successful projects to production
- Support critical hardware demonstrations with customers
- Travel to test sites as needed
- Apply first-principles physics to every decision
Required qualifications: experience in immersive technical projects (collegiate or professional); mechanical design and CAD proficiency with understanding of manufacturing methods (machining, sheet metal, composites, 3D printing, injection molding); ability to read and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams; strong command of engineering first principles; BS/MS/PhD in engineering or equivalent; eligibility for U.S. Secret security clearance.
Preferred: aircraft subsystem layout experience; structural, thermal, and electrical analysis competency; hands-on prototyping skills; leadership and interpersonal excellence; rugged environment design familiarity; electrical-mechanical subsystem integration experience (sensors, payloads, weapons, propulsion); electronics hardware development background (UAVs, wearables, firearms, optical systems); practical electrical engineering tools experience; MIL-STD requirements knowledge.
