Voyager Space is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III - Test to join their defense and space technology division. This senior-level role focuses on advanced testing, integration, and analysis of complex mechanical systems and subsystems.
Key responsibilities include:
Testing & Integration: Set up and operate advanced measurement instruments independently, perform calibrations, develop comprehensive test plans for complex systems including risk assessments and resource allocation. Execute component and subsystem integration with proficiency in data acquisition, cleaning, statistical analysis, and hypothesis testing.
Design & Analysis: Apply advanced mechanical design principles to solve complex engineering challenges. Perform stress analysis, pressure vessel design, and contribute to propulsion systems including solid rocket motors. Conduct structural, dynamic, and thermal analysis using simulation tools. Perform tolerance analysis and provide design recommendations based on GD&T interpretation.
CAD & Modeling: Create intricate 2D/3D designs using CAD software, generate precise technical drawings, optimize designs through advanced modeling techniques, and produce complex assemblies with precision.
Systems Engineering: Develop program plans, understand acquisition lifecycles, and coordinate cross-functional activities. Apply advanced risk management, reliability, and safety principles. Lead requirements analysis and develop tailored engineering strategies.
Communications: Prepare detailed technical reports, user manuals, and deliver technical presentations to diverse audiences. Manage complex communication scenarios and adapt messaging for different stakeholder groups.
Project Management: Contribute to project planning, scheduling, and execution with attention to technical rigor and mission-critical deliverables.
This role requires expertise in aerospace/defense mechanical engineering with demonstrated capability in test engineering, advanced analysis, and systems-level thinking.
