Voyager Technologies is a defense, national security, and space technology company developing mission-critical solutions for advanced propulsion systems and strategic defense applications. This Mechanical Engineer II role focuses on structural analysis of complex solid rocket propulsion systems within the Strategic Systems Division.
You will perform stress analysis of advanced hardware using first-principles engineering and finite element analysis (FEA) software, interpreting results and recommending design improvements. Key responsibilities include structural dynamics analysis of multibody systems to identify critical vibration modes, assess random vibration and shock loading responses, and provide optimization recommendations. You will also develop understanding of CFD and thermal analysis methods and their integration within structural analyses.
The role requires familiarity with mechanical design concepts for high-precision hardware, solid rocket motor physics, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings with GD&T fundamentals. You should be comfortable with CAD software and communicating technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. The position reports to the Analysis and M&P Team Manager and is part of an interdisciplinary engineering team.
This is a hybrid role based in Folsom, CA, with teammates distributed across Folsom, Reno, NV, and Huntsville, AL. Travel up to 10% of the time is expected. The role is ideal for engineers with 2–4 years of experience following a bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or equivalent advanced degree with less experience. Preferred qualifications include experience in fast-paced space and defense environments and familiarity with solid or liquid rocket propulsion technologies.
