Voyager Technologies is a defense, national security, and space technology company developing mission-critical solutions for advanced propulsion and aerospace systems. This Mechanical Engineer II role focuses on structural analysis of complex solid rocket propulsion systems within the Strategic Systems Division.
You will perform stress analysis of advanced hardware using first-principles engineering and finite element analysis (FEA) software, interpreting results and recommending design improvements. Key responsibilities include structural dynamics analysis of multibody systems to identify critical vibration modes, assess random vibration and shock loading responses, and provide optimization recommendations. You will also develop understanding of CFD and thermal analysis methods and their integration into structural models.
The role requires a strong foundation in mechanical design for high-precision hardware, familiarity with solid rocket motor physics, and ability to interpret engineering drawings with GD&T knowledge. You should be comfortable with CAD software and skilled at communicating complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
This is a hybrid position based in Folsom, CA, with the team distributed across Folsom, Reno, NV, and Huntsville, AL. Travel up to 10% of the time is expected. The role reports to the Analysis and M&P Team Manager within the Strategic Systems Division.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 2–4 years of experience, OR Master's degree with 0–2 years of experience, OR PhD with 0 years of experience. Preferred experience includes work in fast-paced space and defense environments and exposure to solid or liquid rocket propulsion technologies.
