Salary: USD 104,030 - 155,839 / annual

Echodyne is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to join its radar technology team in Kirkland, WA. The company develops compact solid-state beam-steering radar systems for autonomous vehicles, uncrewed aircraft, drones, and critical infrastructure security using patented metamaterial technology. In this role, you will own mechanical design projects across the product lifecycle, from concept through production. Key responsibilities include: • Design radar enclosures and PCBA integration, creating detailed engineering drawings and CAD models using Solidworks • Perform thermal, structural, and modal analysis using FEA simulation and hand calculations to validate designs • Conduct enclosure trade studies and tolerance analysis for complex assemblies • Support integration and field-testing activities for MESA-based radar products • Analyze customer environment specifications and tailor mechanical solutions accordingly • Manage fabrication vendors from prototype through production phases • Implement Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) processes and controls • Work independently on design projects while collaborating with multi-disciplinary engineering teams You will need strong proficiency in Solidworks and hands-on experience with electronics enclosure design, including thermal, electrical, and environmental considerations. Experience designing parts for various fabrication processes and understanding PCBA mechanical packaging is essential. You should be comfortable performing limited thermal and stress analysis for design validation and working on complex technology requiring cross-functional collaboration. This is an exempt, full-time position. The role requires a BS/MS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience with 5+ years in the field. Note: Echodyne's radar technology is export-controlled by the U.S. Government, and the company will evaluate your eligibility to handle export-controlled information during the application process.
