CesiumAstro is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to support the design and development of communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms. In this role, you will contribute to mechanical designs across all phases of the product development lifecycle, from initial concept through in-orbit support. Key responsibilities include: - Electronics packaging design and mechanical interface definition - Computer-aided design (CAD) modeling and documentation - Mechanical simulations and finite element analysis (FEA) - Thermal management design and thermal simulation - Shock and vibration analysis - Environmental qualification testing of electronic assemblies - Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) application - EMI/EMC mitigation design - Cost analysis and optimization - Engineering design review presentations You will work in a dynamic, cross-functional startup environment with hands-on involvement in developing leading-edge hardware for spacecraft and aerospace systems. The ideal candidate brings experience in thermal management, precision machining principles, FEA, and shock/vibration analysis. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for presenting design reviews and collaborating across teams.
