Anduril Industries is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Air Dominance and Strike Mechanical Engineering Team, responsible for designing and integrating advanced hardware for missile platforms. You will own the full development lifecycle of mechanical systems, from concept generation through integration and flight test, ensuring high-performance, resilient, and scalable designs for complex, contested environments.
Key responsibilities include designing and developing hardware for high-speed air vehicles, applying first principles of physics to guide all design decisions, leading design reviews, conducting structural and thermal analyses, visiting vendors, and defining and executing hardware test plans. You will build prototypes, analyze failures, and transition successful projects into production. Additionally, you will support critical hardware demonstrations with customers and travel to test sites or vendor locations as needed.
Required qualifications include 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience in advanced air vehicle programs, familiarity with hypersonic missile systems and military standards, and hands-on experience integrating electrical and mechanical subsystems into high-speed air vehicles. You must be proficient in CAD software (particularly Siemens NX) and have a strong understanding of manufacturing methods including machining, sheet metal work, composites, 3D printing, injection molding, and composite lamination. A BS or higher degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering is required, along with eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
Preferred qualifications include experience with Siemens NX and Teamcenter software, expertise in air vehicle subsystem layouts and architectural trade studies, an active DoD Top Secret security clearance, and proficiency in advanced engineering analysis (structural, thermal, and/or electrical domains).
