Anduril Industries is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to own hardware design and development for edge compute and communications systems that support U.S. and Allied military command and control capabilities. This is a hands-on, full-lifecycle role where you will drive innovation in battlefield technology.
You will take technical ownership of hardware from concept through field deployment, working directly with military customers to understand real-world battlefield challenges and translate them into engineered solutions. Your responsibilities include designing novel hardware for demanding mission sets from a blank sheet, building and iterating on prototypes yourself, conducting rigorous analysis and testing to ensure designs survive harsh conditions, and partnering with manufacturing teams to scale production.
You'll be embedded in a tight-knit product team focused on rapid iteration and technical excellence. The role includes direct field engagement—traveling to exercises and working alongside warfighters to gather feedback and provide hands-on support, ensuring your designs deliver real mission impact.
Required: 5–12 years of professional mechanical engineering experience with a proven track record of designing, prototyping, and shipping hardware. You must demonstrate strong command of engineering first principles, CAD proficiency (any platform), high-quality engineering drawing skills, and hands-on fabrication capabilities. A BS, M.Eng, MS, or PhD in an engineering field is required. U.S. Person status is mandatory due to export-controlled information access.
Preferred qualifications include experience with Siemens NX and Teamcenter, integrating electronic components (motors, controllers, sensors) into mechanical designs, hands-on work with machining, sheet metal, composites, and 3D printing, knowledge of static/dynamic/thermal analysis in ANSYS, and an active Top Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one.
