BETA Technologies is revolutionizing electric aviation through sustainable aircraft technology. The Ground Support Equipment (GSE) / Charge Team seeks a Mechanical Engineer to contribute across the full product lifecycle—from early concept through UL-certified production systems. You will create and maintain 3D CAD models, technical drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for state-of-the-art EV charging systems designed for electric aircraft. Working collaboratively with Design Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, ERP specialists, Production Control, and Assembly teams, you'll develop new design concepts, implement changes to existing designs, and maintain the Technical Data Package (TDP). Key responsibilities include generating and processing Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), supporting prototyping and testing activities, and engaging in shop floor work. The role blends desk-based CAD work with hands-on involvement—you'll alternate between design tasks and active manufacturing floor engagement, occasionally assisting with assembly, disassembly, and prototyping. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience; high proficiency in SolidWorks (part & assembly models, technical drawings, BOMs); strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on prototyping experience; ability to pivot quickly between projects; curiosity and motivation to learn new tools; excellent organizational, detail-oriented, and communication skills. Desirable qualifications include Tolerance Stack Analysis, Lean Six Sigma quality tools, GD&T and ASME Y14.5 expertise, PLM/ERP systems experience, electro-mechanical assembly background, EV charging systems knowledge, familiarity with diverse fabrication methods (additive, machining, welding, injection molding, sheet metal, composites), industrial automation, thermal/thermo-fluid analysis, instrumentation expertise, and field service/commissioning support.
