Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Cable Magnets Engineering team. In this role, you will own hardware development from early concept through delivery, taking designs from initial stages to manufacturing and installation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop mechanical designs for cable magnet hardware and supporting systems
- Perform thermal, structural, and electromagnetic analysis to validate designs against requirements
- Create design notes, technical specifications, and manufacturing documentation
- Support procurement activities, including preparation and execution of manufacturing contracts
- Collaborate with production and assembly teams during build and installation phases
- Ensure hardware meets performance, safety, and reliability standards
You will work on critical components of fusion power plant systems, contributing to Commonwealth Fusion Systems' mission to accelerate the transition to commercially viable fusion energy.
