Anduril Industries is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Air Dominance and Strike Mechanical Engineering Team, responsible for designing and integrating advanced hardware for Group 5 air vehicles and missile platforms. You will own the full development lifecycle of mechanical systems, from concept generation through integration and flight test, ensuring high-performance, resilient, and scalable designs that meet the demands of complex, contested environments.
Key responsibilities include developing and integrating hardware on unmanned air vehicles, owning designs from concept to real-world deployment, and applying first-principles physics to every engineering decision. You will lead design reviews, conduct structural and thermal analysis, manage vendor relationships, define and execute hardware test plans, build prototypes, analyze failures, and transition successful projects into production. You will also support critical hardware demonstrations with customers and travel to test sites as needed.
Required qualifications include 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience on advanced air vehicle programs, with demonstrated expertise integrating electrical and mechanical subsystems. You must have hands-on CAD design experience and a deep understanding of manufacturing methods including machining, sheet metal, composites, 3D printing, injection molding, and composite lamination. A BS or higher degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering is required, along with eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
Preferred qualifications include experience with NX/Teamcenter, aircraft subsystem layout development, architectural trade studies, vendor performance evaluation, and competency in engineering analysis (structural, thermal, and electrical). This role offers competitive compensation, equity grants, and comprehensive benefits.
