Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer to lead hardware product development initiatives. You will own engineering documentation and mechanical drafting for multiple hardware products, taking responsibility for both electrical and mechanical component design within assemblies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead creation and maintenance of detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs), Engineering Change Notices, and design traceability from prototype through production
- Develop detailed dimensional drawings for mechanical, electrical, and optical components to industry standards
- Conduct tolerance build-up analysis and create GD&T drawings
- Serve as the on-site Teamcenter expert, guiding stakeholders on best practices and use cases
- Oversee maintenance and design changes on existing hardware products with thorough documentation
- Drive establishment of Product Lifecycle Management framework, including engineering design release workflows, data models, and business tool automation
Required qualifications:
- 10+ years of detailed CAD drafting experience with complex mechanical systems (structures, mechanisms, fluid systems, electromechanical systems)
- Proficiency with Siemens NX and Teamcenter or equivalent CAD/PLM tools
- Strong knowledge of GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards
- Proven ability to excel in fast-paced, manufacturing-at-scale environments
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical and electrical manufacturing processes (metal molding, forming, joining, machining, complex assembly, additive manufacturing, wire harness fabrication, PCB fabrication)
- 5+ years maintaining and enhancing PLM systems
