ARX Robotics is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the R&D team in Kyiv. The role is central to the company's mission of developing autonomous unmanned systems and sensors for the European defence sector, serving NATO armies and civilian first responders.
You will own the full mechanical design lifecycle—from early-stage concepts and 3D modeling through prototyping, testing, and production readiness. This is a hands-on position where your engineering decisions directly impact field-ready systems deployed in challenging, real-world environments. You will contribute to architectural decisions, lead design reviews, and collaborate with a fast-moving team that prioritizes quality and pragmatic execution.
Key responsibilities include designing robust mechanical assemblies optimized for strength, weight, and manufacturability; creating detailed 3D models and 2D drawings with proper GD&T and ISO documentation; developing and refining prototypes from concept to field deployment; and driving projects from initiation through completion with significant autonomy.
You bring 2–3+ years of hands-on R&D experience in mechanical engineering. You are fluent in 3D CAD tools (Inventor, SolidWorks, or Fusion 360) and have practical prototyping experience with 3D printing and modern manufacturing processes. You have a strong foundation in mechanics, materials science, and engineering tolerances, and can prepare comprehensive design documentation for production teams. An R&D mindset is essential—you are comfortable with rapid iteration, uncertainty, and building novel systems. Upper-intermediate English is required for collaboration with international teams. Experience with electrical design (EPLAN) or embedded systems is a plus but not required. The company welcomes motivated candidates eager to grow into the role.
