rePurpose Global is seeking a Materials & Technical Compliance Engineer to join their New York headquarters. The company is a leading Packaging Sustainability & Compliance platform that helps consumer brands measure their plastic footprint, recover plastic waste through a global partner network, and navigate compliance across 45+ packaging regulations from a single platform.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring technical accuracy and compliance of packaging materials data within the platform. You will work with materials science, regulatory frameworks, and technical systems to support the company's mission of reducing plastic waste and enabling brand compliance. Your responsibilities will likely include:
- Developing and maintaining technical specifications for packaging materials and their environmental/regulatory attributes
- Ensuring data accuracy and integrity across the compliance platform
- Collaborating with regulatory, product, and engineering teams to translate compliance requirements into technical implementations
- Supporting the validation of packaging materials against multiple regulatory standards
- Contributing to technical documentation and knowledge bases for materials and compliance processes
- Troubleshooting technical issues related to materials data and compliance workflows
The ideal candidate will have a background in materials science, chemical engineering, environmental engineering, or related field, with familiarity or interest in packaging regulations, sustainability standards, and compliance frameworks. Strong technical communication skills and attention to detail are essential.
