Salary: USD 129,000 - 179,000 / annual
Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Material Manager to lead warehouse operations and optimize material management strategies. This role reports to leadership and manages a team of supervisors, associates, and technicians in a technical hardware warehouse environment.
You will develop and implement comprehensive material management strategies, policies, and procedures compliant with federal and regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities include:
• Hiring, training, and leading a warehouse team to manage material flow per Anduril guidelines and federal property management policies
• Developing processes that increase efficiency and eliminate waste in materials management
• Implementing end-to-end material management measures including FIFO adherence, material variance tracking, cycle time optimization, scrap/obsolescence management, and physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy and prevent stockouts or overstocking
• Developing and improving critical performance metrics to monitor team performance and identify cost-reduction opportunities
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams (procurement, production, manufacturing engineering, logistics, quality) on demand forecasting, procurement planning, and timely material delivery
• Aligning material availability with production schedules to minimize disruptions and meet customer demand
• Analyzing material usage trends and implementing lean practices to optimize handling, storage, and distribution
• Utilizing ERP and WMS software systems to track inventory, generate reports, and provide data-driven insights
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and quality control protocols
• Leading and developing a high-performing team with guidance, training, and performance feedback
This is an aerospace and defense manufacturing role requiring hands-on warehouse expertise combined with strategic planning and team leadership capabilities.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of experience in material management, inventory control, or supply chain management in aerospace and/or defense manufacturing
• 2+ years of experience managing supervisors, associates, or technicians
• Must be onsite and local to Santa Ana, CA or Costa Mesa, CA
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in supply chain, manufacturing, or related operations
• Strong understanding of production rate, critical path analysis, and warehouse fundamentals
• Knowledge of receiving and deployment documentation for domestic and international shipments
• Ability to identify safety issues with warehouse vehicles
• Strong knowledge of AS9100 standards and OSHA laws
• Hands-on warehouse experience with process and equipment troubleshooting
• Passion for employee development and training
• Understanding of production rate and critical path analysis
• Experience with 5S, lean manufacturing, or 6-Sigma principles
• Proficiency with standard computer applications and data presentation
• Reliable, organized, detail-oriented with excellent communication skills
• Experience ramping low-volume operations to high rate
• Forklift certification
