Neuralink is building brain-computer interface devices to restore movement to the paralyzed and sight to the blind. The company is scaling from low-rate initial production toward mass production, and the material supply chain must scale ahead of manufacturing demand. As Material Management Lead, you will build and lead the material operations function as a player-coach, reporting to the Head of Supply Chain. You will own the complete material pipeline from dock to production line: inbound logistics and customs clearance, receiving, incoming quality control, inventory management, kitting, and outbound clinical shipments. Key responsibilities include: - Build and develop a team of shipping & receiving technicians, incoming quality control (IQC) technicians, and inventory specialists, scaling the organization as production volume grows - Define and own KPIs for dock-to-stock cycle time, scan adherence, inspection turnaround, disposition cycle time, kitting SLA performance, and inventory accuracy - Manage end-to-end inbound logistics: shipment visibility, transportation management, shipping terms, and customs clearance with proactive exception handling - Establish and operate the incoming quality program with risk-based sampling plans, receiving inspection, documentation verification, non-conformance reporting, and rapid dispositions through material review boards - Implement unified inventory standards across all product lines: cycle counts, FEFO (first-expiry-first-out) and shelf-life control, full traceability, and low-friction consumption experience for manufacturing teams - Establish the production kitting pipeline: pull, verify, document, and stage kits within agreed SLA windows to identify shortages ahead of build impact - Drive adoption of internal inventory and manufacturing systems with frontline teams - Execute the material side of engineering change cut-ins: identify affected inventory, segregate obsolete material, and restage kits The operating mindset is speed through discipline: rigorous process, traceability, and quality gates that accelerate manufacturing rather than slow it down. You will run material operations as an internal service with tight SLAs, measured daily and improved continuously, in an environment that moves with urgency. Required qualifications: 5+ years in manufacturing operations, materials management, or production logistics with direct team leadership experience. Metrics-driven operations management approach. Player-coach leadership style comfortable on the dock and in inspection areas. Quality systems fluency (GMP, ISO 13485, aerospace, or equivalent). Track record designing scalable operational processes (SOPs, SLAs, training, metrics). Experience driving adoption of inventory or warehouse systems (WMS, MES, ERP) with frontline teams. Preferred: experience scaling operations through production ramps, medical device or GMP manufacturing background, military logistics or operations leadership, international shipping and customs experience, or shelf-life and cold-chain material management.
