Lendbuzz is seeking an experienced Market Development Manager to lead regional growth and build a high-performing field sales team in Maryland or Virginia. This is a people-leadership role focused on automotive lending and dealership partnerships.
In this position, you will own territory expansion strategy by identifying sub-markets and high-opportunity dealership partners. You'll hire, mentor, and develop a team of Dealership Account Managers, fostering a performance-driven culture centered on accountability and partnership excellence. As a senior relationship builder, you'll provide consultative support to key dealership partners and model best-in-class selling behavior in the field.
You'll drive field production by ensuring your team consistently meets volume and quality targets, translate field insights into actionable strategy for senior leadership, and collaborate across underwriting, credit, and internal sales teams to ensure seamless execution. Market intelligence gathering and competitive positioning are core to the role.

Compensation includes a competitive base salary with uncapped monthly commission and a lucrative bonus structure. Additional benefits include a monthly travel stipend, company laptop, comprehensive medical/dental/vision coverage (starting the 1st of the month after hire), 401(k) match, and unlimited PTO. Residence within or near the assigned geographic territory is required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of experience in automotive lending, F&I, indirect auto, or dealership partnership environments
- 2+ years leading or developing a field sales team (formal or informal leadership accepted)
- Proven track record of expanding territories and growing dealer production
- Strong dealership relationships and credibility within the local market
- Hands-on leadership style with field coaching capability
- Customer-focused, organized, and committed to excellence
- Proficiency with CRM tools such as Salesforce or HubSpot
- Ability to analyze volume trends, identify opportunity gaps, and translate data into action
- Comfortable with a six-day work week and frequent in-person dealership visits
- Valid driver's license with clean driving history; regional travel required
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field (preferred)
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese (a plus)
