Robinhood's Middle Office Operations team is seeking a Margin Specialist to manage account-level risk and operations for the firm's margin business. In this hybrid role (3+ days/week in-office across Denver, Chicago, Lake Mary, or New York), you will be responsible for daily margin call analysis and execution of margin sellout processes, recovery efforts across multiple entities, and reconciliation activities. You'll serve as a subject matter expert during critical system outages, participate in weekly on-call rotations, and remain available outside standard business hours when needed.
Key responsibilities include reviewing risk-based alerts, testing margin product functionality, researching and resolving margin-related escalations, monitoring and managing margin interest rates, and ensuring adherence to firm procedures and industry regulations (Regulation T, FINRA Rule 4210). You'll leverage AI-driven initiatives to improve workflows and automate routine tasks, drive testing of new products, and maintain detailed records in accordance with standard operating procedures.
You'll work cross-functionally with clearing, product, compliance, international, and engineering teams to improve operational efficiency, enhance the margin offering, and foster a collaborative culture of knowledge sharing. The role also involves communicating with customers via phone or email to resolve escalated issues and reviewing outbound communications and educational materials.
Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 licenses, understanding of equities and option strategies, strong analytical skills, and demonstrated proficiency with technology and data-driven tools. You should have a strong understanding of Regulation T and FINRA Rule 4210, knowledge of Robinhood's products, and experience with retail client margin calls. A FINRA Series 2 is a bonus.
