Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Manufacturing Test Engineer to ensure rigorous testing and quality assurance of advanced intelligence systems. This role is critical to maintaining production throughput while upholding stringent military-grade standards.
You will own test activities across the manufacturing value stream, from system-level checkouts and acceptance testing to component-level in-process validation. Key responsibilities include maintaining and improving test capabilities, developing test work instructions for technician teams, troubleshooting complex electrical issues, and performing root cause analysis on product failures. You'll collaborate with Design, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering teams to support customer returns and contribute feedback to early-stage test design for new products.
The role emphasizes continuous improvement—optimizing test strategies for efficiency, reducing cycle time without compromising quality, and identifying opportunities to enhance testing processes. You'll analyze test data, generate detailed reports, maintain and calibrate test equipment, and develop libraries of common failure modes with troubleshooting guides.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering, plus 5+ years of manufacturing test and product sustainment experience. You must be proficient with Linux, Ubuntu, LabVIEW, and NixOS; experienced with PCBA testing standards and contract manufacturers; and skilled with electronics test equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, spectrum analyzers, etc.). Strong root cause analysis skills, familiarity with PLM/MES/TES systems, and experience integrating electrical, mechanical, and software systems are essential. U.S. Secret security clearance eligibility is required.
Preferred qualifications include 8+ years of experience, Python/MATLAB proficiency, test automation expertise, knowledge of computer hardware communication protocols (USB, Ethernet, RS232, CAN, etc.), and ESS-related testing experience (thermal, vibration). Current security clearance is a plus.
Note: This role begins with a 3-month training period in Santa Ana, CA before transitioning to the permanent location in Asheville, OH.
