Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Manufacturing Test Engineer to join the Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) Manufacturing team in Irvine, California. The EW team is responsible for rapidly iterating and building cutting-edge defense hardware, with the manufacturing team owning the full value chain from design for manufacturability through production and quality assurance.
In this role, you will own test activities in production, ensuring that systems meet stringent quality standards and production throughput requirements. You'll maintain test capabilities across the manufacturing value stream, from system-level checkouts and acceptance testing to component-level in-process validation. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting complex electrical issues during testing, improving and sustaining existing test systems to enhance automation and consistency, and generating clear test work instructions for technician teams.
You will develop libraries of common failure modes with troubleshooting guides, perform root cause analysis on product failures, and recommend corrective actions. Collaboration with Design, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering teams is essential, particularly for customer returns and failure analysis. You'll contribute feedback to early-stage test design for new products and analyze test data to identify defects and improvement opportunities.
The role requires optimizing test strategies for efficiency without compromising quality, maintaining and calibrating test equipment, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. You'll execute testing as required and work to reduce test time through process optimization.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, plus 5+ years of relevant industry experience emphasizing manufacturing test and product sustainment. You must be familiar with Linux, Ubuntu, LabVIEW, and NixOS, with hands-on experience testing PCBA/electronic assemblies and knowledge of PCBA testing standards. Strong proficiency with electronics test equipment (power supplies, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, data acquisition systems) is essential. Experience with PLM systems, MES, and TES platforms is required, along with the ability to obtain and maintain US DoD security clearance.
