Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Manufacturing Test Engineer to join the Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) Manufacturing team in Irvine, California. The EW team is responsible for rapidly iterating and building cutting-edge defense hardware, with the manufacturing team owning the entire value chain from design for manufacturability through production and quality assurance.
In this role, you will own test activities in production, ensuring stringent quality standards and meeting throughput requirements. Key responsibilities include maintaining test capabilities across the manufacturing value stream (system-level checkouts, acceptance testing, and component-level validation), improving and sustaining existing test systems to enhance automation and consistency, and generating clear test work instructions for technician teams. You will troubleshoot complex electrical issues, perform root cause analysis on product failures, and recommend corrective actions.
You will develop failure mode libraries with troubleshooting guides, collaborate with Design, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering teams on customer returns and failure analysis, and contribute feedback to early-stage test design for new products. Additional responsibilities include analyzing test data and providing detailed reports, optimizing test strategies for efficiency without compromising quality, maintaining and calibrating test equipment, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, plus 5+ years of relevant industry experience with emphasis on manufacturing test and product sustainment. You must be familiar with Linux, Ubuntu, LabVIEW, and NixOS, and have hands-on experience with electronics test equipment (power supplies, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, data acquisition systems). Strong knowledge of PCBA testing standards, contract manufacturer interactions, and root cause analysis is essential. Experience with PLM systems, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and Test Execution Systems (TES) is required. You must be able to obtain and maintain US DoD security clearance.
