As a Manufacturing Engineer on the hardware team, you will drive the design, development, and manufacturing of Verkada's full product line, ensuring consistent high-quality delivery to enterprise customers. This role is based in Taipei and focuses on supporting manufacturing operations across Taiwan and Southeast Asia.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead root cause analysis and implement solutions for manufacturing, quality, and field reliability issues
- Own part-level manufacturing for custom-designed mechanicals including plastic injection molding, die-casting, sheet metal, and advanced processes
- Drive manufacturing and sustaining efforts locally in Taiwan and internationally in Southeast Asia, managing mechanical design changes for released products and late-stage NPI programs
- Develop and execute validation, verification, and reliability test plans and design-of-experiments
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, industrial design, and supply chain teams to optimize DFM/DFA and drive production improvements
- Work with JDM and contract manufacturer factory teams during NPI validation builds, optimizing fixtures, factory tests, cycle times, and reporting
- Partner with international mechanical vendors to bring up new tooling and achieve stable mass production
- Drive on-site quality and scaling improvements directly with part vendors
Required qualifications:
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 8+ years in hardware manufacturing environments
- Fluent English and Mandarin (written and verbal)
- Ability to frequently visit vendors throughout Taiwan with up to 20% international travel
- Proficiency creating and reviewing 2D and 3D CAD drawings
- Broad experience with materials and manufacturing processes (injection molding, die-casting, sheet metal stamping, post-processing)
- Experience manufacturing robust, enterprise-grade products with high waterproofing and impact ratings
- Strong problem-solving skills and scientific approach to complex challenges
