Anduril Industries is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to lead the industrialization of Roadrunner, a cutting-edge VTOL counter-UAS interceptor system, at Arsenal-1, a hyperscale manufacturing facility in Ashville, Ohio. This role owns the entire manufacturing value chain for Roadrunner, from current production rates through high-volume deployment. Key responsibilities include executing manufacturing from prototyping through full-scale production; collaborating with design engineers to drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM) best practices; serving as manufacturing liaison for mechanical fabrication and avionics; owning critical documentation such as MBOMs and work instructions; advising on quality management and business application programs; defining capacity planning actions with manufacturing planning teams; analyzing metrics for continuous improvement (cost reduction, quality improvement, capacity increase); fostering innovation and accountability within the manufacturing engineering team; developing production and test methodologies to enable scaling; and traveling to suppliers and partner sites for sourcing, problem-solving, and process implementation. The role requires relocating to Costa Mesa, California for a 3-month training program under Anduril's world-class manufacturing team before establishing operations in Ohio. Housing and transportation are provided during training. Required qualifications include a degree in a technical field (engineering, math, or hard science preferred); 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or design of electromechanical hardware; demonstrated ability to deliver electromechanical hardware in resource-constrained environments; world-class mission assurance and quality mindset; genuine interest in manufacturing and continuous learning; and flexibility to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
