Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join the Maritime Manufacturing Technology Team in Santa Ana, CA. This role focuses on rapidly developing and implementing manufacturing technologies and processes for cutting-edge defense hardware, including deployable static and moving surface, undersea, and sea-to-air vehicles. You will own a portion or all of the manufacturing value chain for specific products, responsible for the entire spectrum of manufacturing activities: Design for Manufacturability (DFM), tool design and selection, process creation and optimization, vendor sourcing and interaction, quality planning, and work documentation. Key responsibilities include developing novel tooling solutions for fabrication and assembly of structural parts, creating process flows that break down complex assemblies into logical sub-assemblies and sub-processes, and writing comprehensive documentation (work instructions, quality plans, inspection requirements) for manufacturing at scale. You will work hands-on with technicians and other engineers to build prototype hardware, collaborate with contract manufacturers across disciplines (PCBA fabrication, metallic manufacturing, assembly), and contribute to end-customer hardware mechanical and electrical design. Travel to suppliers for initial sourcing, production problem-solving, and quality procedure implementation is expected. Required qualifications include a degree in a technical field (engineering, math, or hard science), 2+ years of experience in manufacturing or electromechanical hardware design, demonstrated ability to deliver hardware in resource-constrained environments, and in-kind or direct team leadership experience with backing examples. You must have personal hands-on experience physically manufacturing hardware (machining, fabrication, soldering, assembly, etc.), with personal or extracurricular projects as a plus. U.S. Person status is required due to export-controlled information access, and you must be eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance. Preferred qualifications include PCBA fabrication experience with SMT process knowledge, hands-on experience with R/C and/or autonomous flight vehicles and control systems, and software scripting experience in any language.
