Relativity Space is building the Terran R rocket vehicle to deliver payloads to orbit using advanced 3D printing and manufacturing technologies. The Stage Manufacturing team owns the build of Terran R's primary structures, turning design into production-ready systems.
As a Manufacturing Engineer II, you will bridge design and production for primary structures. Your responsibilities include providing Design for Manufacturing (DFM) feedback during development, prototype, and flight builds. You'll work closely with design engineers, manufacturing specialists, reliability engineers, internal production teams, and external vendors to solve real-time manufacturing challenges.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide DFM feedback to structures teams throughout development and build phases
- Collaborate across diverse engineering disciplines to drive manufacturing progress
- Cover shop floor operations for primary structure work center assembly, removing barriers and maintaining production momentum
- Champion process improvements across multiple work centers, incorporating learnings from early Terran R builds
- Create work instructions, specifications, and best practices; standardize processes across the manufacturing team
- Optimize for scale and continuously improve manufacturing processes as the vehicle and factory evolve
