Salary: USD 85,000 - 115,000 / annual
BETA Technologies is revolutionizing electric aviation and seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to design, implement, and improve assembly processes for their Alia aircraft manufacturing program. You will work with a cross-functional team to deliver turnkey solutions that enable aerospace production at scale while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop initial and final production readiness plans for new aircraft designs
- Evaluate producibility of new designs through process techniques and equipment capability studies
- Create and maintain Manufacturing Process Instructions that are clear, current, and production-ready
- Work with engineering teams to develop consistent, repeatable, and statistically verified processes
- Analyze production data to identify inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement
- Lead productivity improvement initiatives and capacity planning to meet business targets
- Understand aerospace certification requirements and assess/reduce certification risks
- Provide recommendations on manufacturing personnel training and equipment needs
- Promote excellence, urgency, and exceptional communication across the organization
You will be involved from the design phase of new programs through stable, reliable production, working on cutting-edge electric aircraft technology.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, 0-5+ years of professional experience in assembly and test processes, strong problem-solving and statistical process control skills, understanding of design for assembly and lean manufacturing, product validation experience (AQAP, PPAP), excellent project management and communication skills, ability to read engineering drawings including GD&T, and demonstrated Lean Six Sigma experience.
Preferred qualifications include aerospace or highly regulated manufacturing experience, exposure to rapid manufacturing growth or startup environments, design for manufacture/assembly analysis knowledge, lean manufacturing certification, ability to flex shifts, cross-functional team leadership experience, cellular manufacturing expertise, and PLEX ERP system familiarity.
The role requires the ability to be on your feet for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs. Willingness to travel domestically or internationally is required.
