Salary: USD 129,000 - 171,000 / annual
Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join the Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) Manufacturing team in Irvine, California. The EW Manufacturing Team is responsible for rapidly iterating and building cutting-edge defense hardware for electromagnetic warfare applications.
In this role, you will own a portion or all of the manufacturing value chain, including Assembly, Integration & Test (AI&T) for electro-mechanical assemblies. Your responsibilities will span the entire manufacturing value chain: Design for Manufacturability (DFx), tool design and selection, process creation and optimization, vendor sourcing and interaction, quality planning, and work documentation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning manufacturing processes for electro-mechanical assemblies from assembly through integration and test
- Driving operational excellence through continuous improvement and leading Kaizen events
- Partnering with Product Quality Engineering on root cause corrective action (RCCA) burndowns
- Collaborating with Design Engineering teams during product development to ensure manufacturability
- Developing process flows and breaking down complex assemblies into logical sub-processes
- Creating manufacturing documentation including work instructions, quality plans, and inspection requirements
- Working with contract manufacturers (PCBA fab, harnesses, electrical components, antennas, radios) to develop repeatable processes
- Hands-on prototyping and hardware building with technicians and engineers
- Contributing to end-customer hardware design, including interconnects and board fabrication
Required qualifications include a degree in a technical field (engineering, math, or hard science), 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or electromechanical hardware design, demonstrated ability to deliver hardware in resource-constrained environments, experience with harness or PCBA design review, personal hands-on manufacturing experience (soldering, SMT, harnessing, assembly), and familiarity with tools like JIRA, Siemens NX, Teamcenter, or Oracle. U.S. Person status is required due to access to export-controlled information.
Preferred qualifications include RF product experience with system AI&T, exposure to scaling production testing, hands-on firmware flashing or end-of-line testing experience, software scripting skills, and an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
