Salary: USD 129,000 - 171,000 / annual
Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join the Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) team in Irvine, California. The EW Manufacturing Team is responsible for rapidly iterating and building cutting-edge defense hardware, with ownership spanning the entire manufacturing value chain from design for manufacturability through production scaling.
In this role, you will own a portion or all of the manufacturing value chain for electro-mechanical assemblies, including Assembly, Integration & Test (AI&T). Key responsibilities include driving process improvements and operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives and Kaizen events; partnering with Product Quality Engineering on root cause corrective action (RCCA) burndowns; collaborating with Design Engineering teams to provide design-for-manufacturability (DFx) guidance during product development; developing process flows and breaking down complex assemblies into logical sub-processes; writing manufacturing documentation such as work instructions, quality plans, and inspection requirements; working with contract manufacturers (PCBA fab, harnesses, electrical components, antennas, radios) to develop repeatable processes for both quick-turn development and at-scale production; and contributing hands-on to prototype hardware development alongside technicians and engineers.
You will also contribute to end-customer hardware design, including interconnects, board fabrication, and inspection. The role requires a strong continuous improvement mindset, creative problem-solving in resource-constrained environments, and genuine enthusiasm for manufacturing excellence.
Required qualifications include a degree in a technical field (engineering, math, or hard science preferred); 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or design of electromechanical hardware; demonstrated ability to deliver hardware in resource-constrained environments; experience with harness or PCBA design review; personal hands-on experience with hardware manufacturing (soldering, SMT, harnessing, box assembly); familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Siemens NX, Teamcenter (PLM), or Oracle (ERP); and U.S. Person status due to export control requirements.
Preferred qualifications include experience with RF products requiring system AI&T, exposure to scaling product testing and production, hands-on experience with firmware flashing or end-of-line testing, software scripting experience, and an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
