Salary: USD 70,000 - 121,000 / annual
Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join the Composites branch in Morrisville, North Carolina. This role supports the design, development, and production of advanced composite parts and assemblies for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and other defense systems.
You will work hands-on with technicians and design engineers across the full manufacturing value chain. Key responsibilities include: collaborating with design teams during the design phase to optimize manufacturability; creating and executing manufacturing documentation (work instructions, MBOMs, quality plans, inspection procedures); building composite components and tooling; solving manufacturing problems in schedule-driven environments; developing processes to transition products from prototype/LRIP phases to full-rate production (FRP); and driving root-cause corrective actions (RCCAs) to eliminate production issues.
The role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant manufacturing experience, ideally with composite manufacturing methods. You must be proficient in CAD/CAM software (NX preferred), able to read and interpret engineering drawings including GD&T, and comfortable with MS Office and project management tools. Leadership experience is required. You must be local to Morrisville, NC and eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
Preferred qualifications include aerospace, defense, automotive, or energetics facility experience; familiarity with AS9100/NADCAP accredited manufacturing; proficiency in TeamCenter; experience with multiple composite manufacturing processes (filament winding, autoclave, VARTM, prepregs, hydraulic press); and understanding of CNC machining operations (5-axis routers, lathes, mills).
