Anthropic is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to own the design, qualification, and production of servers, racks, and accelerator systems built at contract manufacturing and ODM partners. This is a hands-on role requiring up to 50% travel to partner factories in the US and internationally. Key responsibilities include designing and documenting assembly, rack integration, and test processes for new server and rack products; leading new line and site bring-ups at CM/ODM partners from process validation through mass production; specifying and validating tooling, fixtures, and test equipment; owning first-pass yield, cycle time, and process capability in production; providing design-for-manufacturing and design-for-test feedback during product development; qualifying process and engineering changes on the line; replicating qualified processes across lines and sites; and partnering with product engineering, test engineering, quality, and supply chain to resolve systemic issues and reduce per-unit cost. Ideal candidates have 8+ years of manufacturing or process engineering experience for complex electromechanical or electronics products at contract manufacturers or ODMs. Required expertise includes end-to-end production process design and release, new line or site bring-up leadership, and proficiency with PFMEA, control plans, SPC, process capability, gauge R&R, DFM/DFT, and structured root cause methods like 8D. Candidates should be comfortable on the factory floor, able to diagnose process problems through observation and telemetry analysis, and communicate effectively with both partner engineers and leadership. A degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent practical experience) is required. Bonus qualifications include experience manufacturing servers, racks, switches, or accelerator systems at data center scale; liquid-cooled rack integration; SMT, PCBA, box build, and rack-level system integration; qualifying second CMs or sites; lean and continuous improvement methods; and a Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
