Salary: USD 90,000 - 130,000 / annual
BETA Technologies is revolutionizing electric aviation and seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to design, implement, and improve assembly processes for their Alia aircraft manufacturing program. You will own all parts manufacturing for your product focus area, working across the full lifecycle from design phase through stable, reliable production.
Key responsibilities include designing assembly processes, tools, and equipment that balance efficiency, maintainability, and cost; understanding aerospace certification requirements and reducing certification risks; commissioning production processes through factory and site acceptance testing; analyzing production data to identify inefficiencies; planning capacity to meet business targets; and collaborating with quality, design, and manufacturing teams on non-conformance disposition and continuous improvement.
You will participate in design and process reviews, support make/buy analyses and supplier validation, manage inventory through ERP systems, and perform hands-on assembly when needed. The role requires comfort with dynamic environments, frequent change, and time-sensitive analysis under pressure.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, 0-2+ years of professional experience defining assembly processes, and hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment operation and troubleshooting. You should have strong problem-solving skills, familiarity with statistical process control, design of experiments, and simulation techniques. Understanding of design for assembly, lean manufacturing, and capacity planning is essential, along with project management and leadership experience.
Preferred qualifications include aerospace manufacturing experience, exposure to rapid manufacturing growth or startup environments, Lean Six Sigma certification, and PLEX ERP system experience. The role involves frequent domestic and international travel and requires physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
