Swarm Aero is building the world's largest swarming UAV fleet and Command & Control software to mobilize thousands of heterogeneous autonomous assets. The company is recruiting a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to establish production lines from the ground up and scale advanced autonomous aircraft manufacturing.
You will partner directly with design teams to translate novel aircraft concepts into manufacturable products, implementing design-for-manufacturing (DFM) principles. You'll own the setup of manufacturing facilities, including procurement of heavy equipment globally and design of custom tooling. Your responsibilities include developing and implementing advanced manufacturing processes for composite and metallic aircraft components, creating and maintaining comprehensive manufacturing documentation (work instructions, process flows, tooling designs), conducting feasibility studies and production readiness reviews, and overseeing prototype production through transition to full-scale manufacturing.
Swarm Aero's team includes veterans from Scaled Composites, Airbus, Archer Aviation, Blue Origin, and Boom Supersonic, with a track record of designing and building 30+ novel aircraft and negotiating multi-billion-dollar defense contracts.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
- 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in aerospace or defense
- Extensive hands-on experience with composite and metallic manufacturing processes
- Proficiency with manufacturing software tools and CAD systems (Siemens NX, Fibersim, Warpdrive, NetSuite, ION, Manufacturo, or similar)
- Solid understanding of quality control principles and practices
- Strong leadership and project management abilities
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, small team environments
