Disciplines:
- Assembly & Integration: Mechanical assembly, propulsion, mechanical test
- Avionics & Test: Electronics manufacturing, electrical test, debugging systems
- Composites: Advanced materials, resins, ablatives, sandwich structures
- Machining: CNC programming, precision manufacturing, GD&T
Key Responsibilities:
- Own product expertise from design through launch, hitting production goals while maintaining quality
- Investigate failures, implement fixes, and make engineering calls on flight-readiness
- Write clear procedures, design reliable hardware and test setups, create test methods for critical systems
- Apply Lean/Six Sigma methodologies to improve speed and efficiency
- Review designs for manufacturability and testability
- Help launch new products to the factory floor and identify equipment needs
- Mentor technicians and newer engineers
- Run projects with minimal oversight and document lessons learned
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or similar
- 0–5 years of technical experience in Manufacturing, Production, or Process Engineering
- Hands-on problem-solving in complex manufacturing systems
- Foundational knowledge of complex manufacturing processes
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Can-do approach and flexibility in fast-paced environments
Discipline-Specific Experience (one or more):
- Avionics & Test: Debugging electro-mechanical systems, instrumentation and sensors
- Composites: Advanced materials, tooling, manufacturing processes
- Machining: GD&T, inspection methods, CAM software for 3/5-axis CNC, 2+ years machine shop experience
- Assembly & Integration: Mechanical assembly, integration, or test processes
Bonus: Aerospace/defense/high-reliability manufacturing experience, Lean or Six Sigma certification.
