Salary: USD 111,000 - 147,000 / annual
Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming military capabilities through advanced autonomous systems and AI. The company is fielding next-generation Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) for seabed exploration, operating multi-million-dollar contracts and Robot-as-a-Service operations.
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will own portions of the manufacturing value chain for cutting-edge AUVs, responsible for design for manufacturability, tool design and selection, process creation and optimization, vendor sourcing, quality planning, and work documentation. Key responsibilities include:
• Own manufacturing value chain for products or product families
• Write manufacturing documentation including work instructions, quality plans, and inspection requirements
• Develop process flows and break down complex assemblies into logical part flows and sub-processes
• Collaborate with contract manufacturers across disciplines (PCBA, metal/plastic manufacturing, assembly) to develop repeatable processes for both quick-turn development and at-scale production
• Work hands-on with technicians and engineers building prototype hardware
• Develop novel tooling solutions for fabrication and assembly of structural parts
• Contribute to end-customer hardware mechanical and electrical design, including interconnects and board fabrication
• Travel frequently between Quonset and Quincy facilities to support production scale-up
Required: Bachelor's degree in engineering, math, or hard science; 3+ years in manufacturing or electromechanical hardware design; demonstrated ability to deliver hardware to spec in startup environments; hands-on experience with manufacturing (machining, fabrication, soldering, assembly); strong organizational and communication skills; eligible for US Secret security clearance.
Preferred: Sub-sea robotics experience (AUVs/UUVs); electrical systems expertise up to 400VDc; subsea cable splicing; pressure vessel/systems experience; PLM/ERP software proficiency; large-scale low-volume manufacturing background.
