Crux is a capital platform modernizing how clean energy and critical infrastructure projects raise and deploy capital. The company combines advisory, investments, technology, and intelligence to transform an opaque, fragmented market into a transparent, efficient ecosystem. With $77M in funding from top-tier VCs (Andreessen Horowitz, Lowercarbon Capital, New System Ventures) and strategic investors (Pattern Energy, Clearway Energy, EDF Renewables), Crux has closed 130+ transactions facilitating billions into renewables in just two years.
As Managing Director of Tax Investor Coverage, you'll lead Crux's expansion into the tax credit buyer market—a critical segment for clean energy financing. You'll develop deep relationships with tax and finance leaders at F250 companies across utilities, real estate, and industrials, positioning them as strategic buyers of renewable energy tax credits. This is a people-leadership role: you'll manage a team of junior professionals, mentor their development, and oversee execution quality while also serving as an internal subject matter expert on renewable tax credits.
Key responsibilities include: building net-new relationships through conferences, partnerships, and direct outreach; serving as a trusted advisor helping clients develop tax credit investment strategies; partnering with legal and tax advisors on complex transactions; shaping Crux's overall tax credit buyer strategy; speaking publicly at webinars and conferences; and collaborating with product and customer success teams to maximize client value from Crux's technology platform.
You'll need 14+ years in tax, accounting, legal practice, or tax-advantaged investing, with a proven track record of building long-term corporate relationships from scratch. Experience managing junior team members is essential. You're comfortable with cold outreach, public speaking, and travel (25%). FINRA SIE, Series 79, and 63 certifications are required or you must be willing to obtain them under Crux's broker-dealer sponsorship.
Crux operates remote-first across the US and Canada with optional offices in DC, NYC, Bay Area, Seattle, Denver, Boston, and LA. The culture emphasizes high ownership, rapid growth, and blending financial services expertise with cutting-edge AI applications. The company is profitable and growing exponentially.
