You will lead a team of Commercial Technical Account Managers responsible for post-sales success: onboarding, adoption, customer health, and technical partnership. Your team owns retention and ensures there is no product reason for customers to leave. You'll inherit a strong team and a customer base that loves the product, with foundational blueprints already in place (segmentation, health score model, role charters, playbooks). Your mission is to operationalize these into a retention engine that runs efficiently without heroics.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and grow a team of Commercial TAMs; hire ahead of need as the company scales
- Own adoption, customer health, and gross retention outcomes across the customer base, partnering with Account Executives on commercial renewals
- Mature the post-sales operating system: operationalize segmentation, health scoring, and lifecycle playbooks; ensure QBRs tell data-driven stories
- Serve as the senior escalation point for at-risk accounts; run deep dives, build save plans, and drive resolution
- Set performance and career growth standards for your team and hold them consistently
- Drive efficiency gains each quarter through automation, playbooks, and one-to-many programs
- Feed technical field intelligence back to Product and Engineering so customer patterns inform the roadmap
- Report retention, adoption, and team health metrics to leadership with confidence
Tools: Slack, GitHub, Zendesk, Vitally, HubSpot, Grafana.
The company is remote-first with quarterly team off-sites. Benefits include market-competitive salary, meaningful equity, comprehensive health coverage (99%), flexible time-off, paid parental leave, and a winter shutdown.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 4+ years directly managing post-sales teams (TAM, Solutions Engineering, or related); you've hired, developed, and performance-managed individual contributors
- 6+ years total in pre or post-sales roles (TAM, Solutions, or Services) in B2B SaaS
- Proven track record owning GRR, NRR, or adoption targets; can articulate the numbers, misses, and corrective actions
- Background in security, developer tools, or adjacent technical products; understand the SDLC and how developers and security teams operate
- Experience as escalation owner on at-risk commercial accounts with documented save stories
- Built, operationalized, or improved core post-sales systems: segmentation, playbooks, health scoring, QBR frameworks
- Willingness to step in as individual contributor to support team needs, cover gaps, or lead by example
- Executive presence with CISOs and VPs of Engineering, and with company leadership
- Willingness to travel for customer and company meetings as needed
PREFERRED:
- Domain experience in software supply chain security, AppSec, DevSecOps, or open-source ecosystems
- Track record scaling a post-sales function at a high-growth startup through rapid ARR and headcount growth
- Experience managing TAM charters and keeping motions distinct but coordinated
- Hands-on with Vitally or similar CS platforms; experience scaling digital-touch programs
