Form Energy is hiring a Manager, System Integration & Test to lead a high-performing team of mechanical, electrical, and software test engineers responsible for planning, execution, and reporting of system-level verification and validation across integrated test assets.
You will own the end-to-end testing workflow on system-level test beds including the System Integration Test Bed (SITB), Network Test Bed (NTB), Pack Systems Test Bed (PSTB), Quad-Skid Test Bed (QTB), and Dual-Pack Test Bed (DPTB). Your team's mandate spans requirement-driven verification and validation (VERTs/VALs) and DFMEA-driven test campaigns across all primary hardware and software subsystems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead, mentor, and grow a multi-disciplinary team of mechanical, electrical, and systems test engineers across hardware and software disciplines
- Own the strategy, test definition, and campaign execution for system-level requirement verification and validation following Form's test process
- Oversee DFMEA risk-mitigation testing and burn-down programs across integrated test assets
- Direct system-level testing across electrical & power (high-voltage distribution, DC/DC converters, grid inverters, Power Plant Controllers, power flow testing), networking & communications (CAN, Modbus, Ethernet protocols, network latency, telemetry robustness), and Battery Management Systems (BMS hardware/software integration, state machine verification, safety interlock validation)
- Own key technical deployment gates to greenlight hardware transitions between prototype, factory functional testing, and field deployment sites
- Manage issue logging, root-cause analysis, and failure triage using Form Issue Tracker (FIT/JIRA)
Form Energy manufactures long-duration iron-air battery systems for grid-scale energy storage. The company has been recognized by TIME as a "Best Invention," MIT Technology Review as a "Top Climate Tech Company To Watch," and Fast Company as "One of the Next Big Things In Tech." Production is underway at their first high-volume manufacturing facility in West Virginia, and they have signed contracts with leading electric utilities across the United States.
Relocation assistance is available.

- 2+ years of direct people management leading engineering teams
- Deep technical background in complex multi-physics systems (e.g., energy storage systems, electric vehicles, grid-scale power electronics, heavy industrial automation)
- Direct experience managing requirements-driven testing, DFMEA risk-mitigation burn-down, and hazard/safety verification
- Hands-on expertise with power conversion systems (inverters, DC/DC), high-voltage DC architectures, industrial communication buses (CAN, Modbus, Ethernet), and automated test software/HIL framework integration
- Proven track record of cross-functional alignment, executive-level status reporting, and managing risk escalations under tight development schedules
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with grid-scale energy storage certification standards (UL 9540A, UL 1973, UL 991, UL 1998)
- Direct experience operating Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) or physical integrated system test beds
- Proficiency with Atlassian toolsets (JIRA, Confluence) and Python/MATLAB/LabVIEW test automation ecosystems
