Duolingo is seeking a Manager of Strategy and Business Operations to drive strategic initiatives and operational excellence across the organization. This role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution, requiring the ability to balance speed with rigor while resolving ambiguity and scaling one-off wins into repeatable systems.
You will partner closely with leaders across Growth, Language Learning, Monetization, and other key functions to develop actionable strategies that combine market understanding, user insights, and product vision. Key responsibilities include developing strategies that guide cross-functional teams toward Duolingo's mission, identifying and assessing compelling market opportunities through rapid assessment cycles, establishing success metrics and building clear decision frameworks, and collaborating across product, engineering, design, marketing, partnerships, data science, and finance.
The ideal candidate brings 3+ years of professional experience with demonstrated analytical capabilities and logical thinking. You should be fast, flexible, and outcomes-oriented—thriving in rapid cycles of analysis, decision, and action. Strong people skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders are essential. You'll develop data-driven understanding of complex problems and simplify findings into clear conclusions.
Exceptional candidates will have experience in strategy, business operations, strategy consulting, product management, or corporate development. Background in consumer tech, mobile apps, subscription-based services, global team collaboration, and leading cross-functional projects in high-growth environments is highly valued. Passion for Duolingo's mission to develop the best education in the world and make it universally available is important.
This role is based in Duolingo's Pittsburgh headquarters with a hybrid work model requiring 4 days in the office per week. The position offers competitive compensation including base salary and equity, along with comprehensive benefits supporting employee well-being.
