Duolingo is seeking a Manager of Strategy and Business Operations to drive strategic initiatives and operational excellence across the organization. This role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution, partnering closely with leaders across Growth, Language Learning, Monetization, and other functions to create clarity and alignment that accelerates progress on Duolingo's top priorities.
You will develop actionable strategies by collaborating with cross-functional leaders to combine market understanding, user insights, and product vision into executable plans. You'll sprint to assess new opportunities and markets, spanning problem-space definition, hypothesis generation, industry research, and iterative execution. Your work will be grounded in data and structured frameworks—you'll establish success metrics, build clear decision-making frameworks, and make trade-offs across competing priorities.
Key responsibilities include partnering cross-functionally with product, engineering, design, marketing, partnerships, data science, and finance teams. You'll rapidly gain new skills and industry learnings while delivering world-class strategy work alongside talented colleagues.
You bring 3+ years of professional experience with a fast, flexible, outcomes-oriented mindset. You have strong analytical skills and logical thinking, able to develop data-driven understanding of complex problems and simplify findings into clear conclusions. Excellent people skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders are essential. You're excited about Duolingo's mission to develop the best education in the world and make it universally available.
Exceptional candidates will have experience in strategy, business operations, strategy consulting, product management, or strategic corporate development. Strong knowledge of the consumer tech industry, experience with mobile apps and subscription-based services, experience working with global teams, and experience leading cross-functional projects in high-growth environments are highly valued.
The role is based in Duolingo's Pittsburgh headquarters with a hybrid work model of 4 days in the office per week.
