Relativity Space is building rockets and automated manufacturing systems to serve commercial and future space missions. The Terrestrial Software team develops the digital backbone for an automated rocket factory and integrated launch platform, automating workflows from raw material intake through launch operations.
As an Engineering Manager on the Factory Platform team, you will lead a squad of 5-10 engineers building mission-critical tooling for design and simulation engineers optimizing the Terran R vehicle. Your team will deliver the engineering analysis platform, design tools, and data pipelines that transform test stand telemetry and simulation results into actionable insights for propulsion, structures, avionics, and test engineers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Hiring, growing, and managing a team of 5-10 engineers with focus on 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development
- Setting team roadmap and priorities in partnership with design and test engineering stakeholders
- Establishing engineering standards for code quality, testing, deployment, and incident response
- Guiding architectural decisions and keeping your team unblocked
- Building a high-performing culture of ownership and continuous improvement
- Contributing hands-on code when time permits
You will work directly with cross-functional teams across propulsion, structures, avionics, and test to understand workflows, remove bottlenecks, and build software that accelerates iteration, validation, and vehicle improvement.
