Salary: USD 266,000 - 326,000 / annual

You will lead a full-stack engineering team (backend and mobile engineers) focused on the Early Bets initiative—developing innovative 0-1 stage products. This is a hands-on manager role requiring both strategic team leadership and direct technical contribution. You'll work closely with product, analytics, and cross-functional partners to translate business goals into technical roadmaps optimized for rapid iteration and discovery. Key responsibilities include: - Act as a product-minded player-coach, balancing team management with hands-on technical work on early-stage products - Embed AI-native engineering practices into planning, prioritization, and execution workflows - Maintain deep AI fluency and coach engineers on effective, disciplined AI usage (tools like Cursor and Claude) - Own the full performance management lifecycle: expectations, feedback, calibration, leveling, and development planning - Partner with product teams to design scalable architectures and implement high-quality features - Recruit and develop a top-tier engineering team fostering technical excellence and innovation - Scale team impact through AI automation while maintaining agility in high-velocity product development You'll need 7+ years of software engineering experience including leadership in an IC or EM capacity, a CS degree or related technical discipline, and demonstrated ability to write clean, scalable code while mentoring others. Experience leading teams on critical infrastructure, comfort with cross-functional collaboration, and hands-on AI-native workflow fluency are essential. The role is based in Mountain View HQ with hybrid work (2 days/week in-office).
